Jamie Frere-Scott

Associate Director

Jamie joined Finance Earth in April 2023 and leads work across a range of natural capital investment advisory projects in the UK. 

Jamie is responsible for the management of Finance Earth’s Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund (NEIRF) engagements and leads on agriculturally focused projects in the UK. Jamie has worked on a Nature Friendly Farming Transition Fund concept for the National Trust and supported Soil Association Exchange in the design and delivery of Exchange Market, to reward farmers for the delivery of carbon reductions on farm. He has also advised the National Forest Company on green finance markets and opportunities.

Prior to joining Finance Earth, Jamie was part of the core team at an agri-tech business focused on soil carbon assets validated by physical soil measurement. As Head of Partnerships, Jamie was responsible for customer success and managed all operations linked to soil analysis, developing scientific networks and engaging with policy relating to soil carbon in the UK. Before realigning his career to focus on environmental finance, Jamie spent over 12 years as an investment research specialist covering equity, fixed income and real assets for wealth management and pension scheme clients.

Jamie has an MA (Hons) degree in Geography and Social and Economic History from the University of Edinburgh, and he is an active member of the Worshipful Company of Grocers in the City of London. Jamie also oversees his family’s sheep and cattle farm in the Scottish Borders and is currently exploring regenerative opportunities.
