Elva joined Finance Earth in September 2024 and supports across a range of natural capital investment advisory projects.

Since joining Finance Earth, Elva has worked with local planning authorities to develop investment cases for Biodiversity Net Gain projects across multiple sites in the UK. This work includes using financial models and biodiversity metrics to assess the impact of varying biodiversity uplifts across different sites. She has also worked with the National Landscapes Association (NLA) to identify viable green finance projects that could be undertaken in different National Landscapes across the UK, with a particular focus on improving water quality. In addition, Elva has supported a start-up in Cornwall focused on making and selling biochar within the local area.

Prior to joining Finance Earth, Elva completed a Master’s programme in Environmental Technology, with a focus on exploring natural capital funding structures for farmers. During her thesis, she worked with the Surrey Wildlife Trust to compare public and private funding mechanisms available to farmers in Surrey, with the aim of identifying barriers to blended funding for farms.

Elva also has experience working as a field ecologist, surveying protected species across the south of England. She conducted field research by collecting data on local fauna and flora, monitoring biodiversity and surveying ecosystems using GPS mapping and remote sensing tools.

Elva holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a BSc in Zoology from the University of Bristol. She is bilingual in English and French.
