Alex Hume

Associate Director

Alex joined Finance Earth in 2019 and leads work on a range of built and natural environment projects.

Alex comes from a background in renewable energy, and from 2020 has acted as advisor to CORE LLP, a £50m community renewable energy fund. In this role, Alex leads across operational management and has played a key part in a number of CORE’s landmark transactions.

Alex has broad experience across UK natural capital markets and products. He works closely with an array of local authorities throughout the UK in the design and implementation of natural capital approaches, most recently developing Plymouth City Council’s Ocean City Nature strategy. Similarly, he works closely with several of our eNGO partners to unlock new nature-based solutions and funding streams for the protection of our most important natural assets. In addition, Alex has supported both the UK government and devolved governments on the design of ecosystem service market support mechanisms.

Alex has a BA (Hons) in History from Lincoln College, University of Oxford.
